About Future-Logs

Interactive science fiction stories

Future-Logs this is an original project interactive science fiction stories online, created in the format choose your own adventure (CYOA), also known as interactive fiction, hypertext fiction or non-linear narrative.

Each story is a narrative experience in which the reader not only follows the plot but also actively influences its course through choices and decisions made at key moments in the story.

The project combines classic science fiction motifs such as Mars, androids, megacities, space colonization, artificial intelligence, and the political conflicts of the future — with a modern form of digital literature in which one story can have many parallel paths and endings.

What are interactive stories?

Interactive stories (English). interactive fiction) is a narrative genre in which the reader:

  • makes decisions that influence the course of events,
  • discovers different variants of the same story,
  • can return to earlier moments and explore other story paths,
  • experiences the story as a process, not a closed text,
  • talks to characters in the form of AI chatbots.

This format is derived from classic books like choose your own adventure and text games, but in the modern version — such as in Future-Logs — it functions as a full-fledged form of digital narrative literature.

What is the Future-Logs project?

Future-Logs is coherent science-fiction universe, developed through a series of non-linear stories. Each "diary" is a separate narrative, but all are connected by a shared world, a similar timeline, and underlying themes: technological advancement, space colonization, conflicts of interest between Earth and other colonies, the evolution of artificial intelligence, and the social tensions of the future.

Distinctive features of the project

  • Non-linear plot — many possible paths and endings
  • High narrative immersion — emphasis on atmosphere, pace and emotions
  • Hard and soft science fiction themes — from technology to the social consequences of progress
  • Narrative experiments — including real-time interactions with NPCs
  • Multilingualism — content available in several languages

How to read Future Logs?

  1. Read the narrative passages carefully
Each stage of the story introduces new information about the world, the hero, and the situation.
  2. Make story decisions
At key moments, you'll be presented with several options. Each option leads to a different outcome.
  3. Explore different paths
Once you finish the story, you can go back to previous points and check out other plot variants.
  4. Interactions with NPCs in the form of chatbots
In some stories (e.g. "The Neon Case", "Operation Red Shadow"„) non-player characters (NPCs) appear, with whom you can talk in real time in the form of a chat.

To get the best and most consistent answers:

    • take on the role of your hero,
    • carry on a conversation in full sentences,
    • ask questions that are consistent with the story context.

The more you „get into” the character’s shoes, the more natural and narratively meaningful the NPC’s response will be.
