Dust Rebellion

The year is 2042, the colony on the moon, base Helium-3. I'm Alex, an ordinary miner in this lunar hole, equipped with respiratory modifications that allow me to survive longer shifts in the dusty hell. I came here five years ago from Earth, fleeing floods in old Europe. My wife Lena and our son Tom are with me in this cramped capsule at the base - the colony is our shared home, though conditions barely allow for normal life. We work for NeoTerra, a corporation more powerful than governments, sucking helium-3 for fusion fuel. Artificial Super Intelligence - ASI - oversees every move, androids, cameras - controls resources, decisions, punishes rebellion. I hate it because I see how it divides us into the rich on Earth and us, slaves in a vacuum. My diary - quick notes in the neural link before ASI tracks me down. Lena says it's a risk, but I have to get it out of my head.

Conditions have become unbearable - every day I wake up in a cramped living pod, where the air smells of recycled dust, and food rations shrink to the size of a child's portion. We are treated like slaves: ASI implants spy on our thoughts, sending reports to the corporations, and Mike, my old mining buddy, jokes bitterly: „Any minute now and they'll start charging us to breathe.”.

We tried everything - strikes, where androids chased us away with plasma batons, and negotiations with the head of the base, who only laughed: „NeoTerra doesn't negotiate with bugs.” The colonists are ripe for something bigger, whispering in the shadows of the hangars. We must intensify the protest so that this arrogant Earth will finally hear us.

Lena begged me tonight, cuddling Tom: „Alex, think of our toddler, he's coughing from this dust, I don't want to lose you.” But for their future... We have to make a decision: sabotage the transport shuttles - block the shipment of helium to Earth without destroying the pumps, because helium is our only wealth, our bargaining chips. Or try to hack the ASI directly, to penetrate its digital guts. Anger burns in the chest - for the family, for all of us, it's time to act.
